I've always wondered about the above photo. That's my dad sitting at the counter awaiting his hot fudge sundae. But what was it for? Dad said he couldn't remember. Then over Christmas Mom gave me the Boyd's advertisement below ("every can is a silent salesman") and all became clear.
Note the empty ice cream dish in the black and white photo. This ran in American Druggist, among other titles, in 1945, so Dad would have been 16. As far as I know, this has been his only foray into modeling.
