My new blog header was created by my friend Paul Laffy. It looks awesome, I think. The photo is a close-up from the blower of my Buffalo Forge Grill. This Friday I'm going to drop the grill off at Rick's Restorations in Las Vegas, and Rick and his team are going to make it better than new for a segment on the History Channel's American Restoration program. When it's complete, I'll fly out again to tape the "reveal." And I'll update the header to show the new type. The program should run in the fall sometime. Thanks, Paul for the great design.
Isabella has a cartoon nominated in a contest sponsored by the Union of Concerned Scientists. The winner will be decided by readers voting. You can vote for her here. (She's appropriately cartoon #1.) Spread the word...
Tonight 7/27/12 at the Hastings Station Cafe (at the train station) in Hastings, NY, there will be some great jazz, wine and tapas. The guitarist is Jay Azzolina and he's ridiculously good. So is the rest of the band. They start playing at 7:00. I went last Friday with Isy, who took the picture of me and my friends Ed and Ron enjoying ourselves.
We had a big rockfall on the Palisades recently, right across the river from our town of Hasting-on-Hudson, NY. Isabella painted this 22x28 inch painting with acrylic on canvas. It's on display at The Gallery on Cedar in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Jess Topper is hard to categorize but easy to read. She’s has tons of unexpected observations on life and is always funny as heck. I recommend her blog, I’ll Blog When I’m Dead, and her new Facebook page. And her tweets (@jesstopper) are a riot. Check ‘em out, you'll be hooked.
