Peter Wettlaufer has stored this beauty in his garage attic for 40 years, and believes "it's time for this turbo-charged wonder to find a new home." Peter continues, "It is complete and in perfect condition."
It's all there: the blast pipe, the fire pan, the fire shield, the grill, the blast plate, the large disk (lower shelf), the front shelf with supports, the three legs, axle, cotter pins, wheels, hub caps (sweet!), lifter rod, notched bracket, and of course the blower head and crank handle.
It even includes the original assembly instructions, which is really cool. I have never seen those before.
Peter would "like to sell it locally as this is its birthplace and it deserves to be close to home." He lives in Buffalo's Delaware district if you'd like to have a look. Hurry before it goes up on eBay. You can reach Peter at wettlauferp@roadrunner.com
Peter also writes one of my favorite descriptions of the grill: "As a kid at our summer home in Canada, I remember the sound of the cranking of the blower resounding up and down the shore." It is indeed a wonderful sound.
