This was one of the pieces I read in Dobbs Ferry on Sunday. It went over well, but I think it's even better with the sound clips.

I remember all of those commercials, except for the bubble gum ones. The one I can't get out of my mind is the one for "Charlie". As I recall, it too, had a woman running impulsively through city streets in such a way that she would probably be medicated today. She wasn't wearing a cape, but I, a white fringed poncho- with a matching white beret. Ah the seventies...

ack, i remember the jean nate commercials... was that before the 70's? my dad actually bought me some and it was the smell of death! funny piece!
