There are many funny things about this, but maybe the funniest part is the "baby listening" service.Just the idea that British hoteliers assume that American children would be "reasonably likely to go to sleep" is charmingly naive. Did your family actually stay there?

We did stay there. It was cheap and recommended in that book. London was very hip back then. Even an 11-year-old could tell.
