The Bannermans (not related to Isabella's family) actually lived on Bannerman Island in the summer. Nice view from the deck, isn't it. The Arsenal and the house burned down in 1969.

Jane Bannerman "Bannerman Island" Painting

Isn't this beautiful? Jane Bannerman, who is not related to Isabella, turned 102 in March. The Bannerman Island property (and castle) in the middle of the Hudson River was in her husband Charles's family. Jane studied painting at Parsons School of Design.
