Reflective, inflated nylon sculpture by Jeff Koons. Hopefully the ballerina won't get burned by Prometheus, whom she towers over. Through June 2.

Another beautiful relief sculpture, with gold leaf accents. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

The color is untrue in the second, closer shot, but I wanted to post it to show the beauty of the detail. This is outside the French pavilion on 5th Avenue. Thus the national motto of France below the top sculpture: Liberté, égalité, fraternité.

Rockefeller Center Relief Sculpture Using Gold Leaf

If you look carefully around Rockefeller Center, you'll find gold leaf everywhere. It's 23 carat gold, which is 95.8333% pure. Here swords are being transformed into plowshares, from Isaiah 2:4. 

"He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore."
